Memorial Day is heralded as the unofficial start to summer, which means the beginning of transitioning from your spring wardrobe to your summer outfits. This usually takes some adjustment as we have to get back into the groove of exposing skin, wearing sandals, and finding flattering outfits that will keep us cool. It gets even further complicated when you have to now try and remember what fashion rules to follow.

So here are a few simple tips to make your transition smoother:

1. Don’t be afraid to be daring with your summer jewelry! You don’t have to keep your gold and silver separated; there are plenty of amazing combinations you can find out there with the two mixed together for summer.

2. Just because the sun is out doesn’t mean you have to hide the black. Instead of tucking it away, spruce it up with bright, color highlights in your accessories, like a thick belt or chunky necklace!

3. You don’t need to get tanned to look good in the summer. The bronze-orange look has thankfully begun to fade out, as is reflected on the runways lately. Be confident in your skin… tone and all.

4. Shorts are not just for casual events anymore! Designers have put out tons of dressy shorts that can be easily dressed up or down, and can replace wearing a skirt. See, getting ready for those Memorial Day celebrations and summer fashion isn’t so bad!
