The beginning of every year is a good time to take a step back and see where you're at - and that applies to your wardrobe as well as your new year's resolution!

Here's a few tips to clean out your closet and get a fresh new perspective on your style:

• Do you need to dress it up? If you're finishing up college, or starting a new job, this might be a good time to start adding more "adult' pieces into your collection.

• Is it versatile? You might not need that polka-dot sweater you love so much on a daily basis, but a pair of black heels will work with just about anything. Make sure you have a few cornerstone pieces that you can accent with your wild sid.

• Can you dress it up OR dress it down? Simple, classic pieces like a white shirt can be dressed up for work, or paired with jeans for a casual, sophisticated look.
